NEW YORK — Volkswagen’s new Golf Alltrack is the wagon you so desperately want with the tall ride height that American roads require.
The crossoverization (my word) of the American roadways the last decade or so has been more than mildly flummoxing for me. Not only is the wagon body style more efficient on the road than an SUV or a sedan (I’m not making that up), they’re downright better looking.
That said, there’s some utility to having a high-riding all-wheel drive vehicle in countries like Russia, China and the U.S. in which roads are of questionable quality and all states of disrepair. Read more…
