Tesla Motors has filed a lawsuit against German auto parts supplier Hoebiger Automotive Comfort Systems, alleging the company failed to produce the falcon-wing doors for Tesla’s Model X crossover.
In the suit, Tesla asserts that doors produced by Hoebiger “sagged beyond Tesla’s specified tolerance levels” and “did not open with the speed or symmetry.”
Tesla severed ties with Hoebiger in May 2015 after having selected the German producer of hydraulic systems for trunk lids, lift-gates and convertible tops to produce the Model X’s signature feature in February 2014. Read more…
